Good Evening,
A very tiresome day today we only managed two sessions and was pretty tired through them as well. It was a very sunny day today and fairly warm out of the wind, so we took a few walks all the way around the complex to get lots of fresh air.
New drugs tried and old ones up a little so adjustments are expected.
Along with the bike and exercise area, we also have Monday afternoons to ourselves in the pool and now a Wednesday morning session with Rec therapist helping out! It does pay to not give up, just be persistent. Couple of things planned for tomorrow then Shelley will be here in the afternoon and Chris will get to see his new niece and the old nephew!!!
Looking forward to tomorrow and more change?
Good Night,
Kevin

Thankyou so much for the time and effort you put in to keep us updated, Kevin!
Huge kudos to you for your persistence in advocating for the pool and increased access to the gym for Chris, and to the Ponoka folks as well, for listening and being open to doing things differently. It's a win-win, and the pool techniques you demonstrate may lead to an additional therapeutic option for others, when the ponoka people have had the opportunity to learn from you and Chris.
We are doing a sundance for you guys here......yuck to the snow.
Big day tomorrow for Chris meeting little Gwen for the first time!!
We will be thinking of you all, as always.
Hugs to all, and thanks again for your updates.....so very appreciated!

I appreciate your response about the staff members that did give a damn about Chris, his struggle for reahb and his family. That means more than you would ever know. Nursing, physio, social work etc is often a thankless job but we do it because we care. Unfortunately we often only hear complaints because we are the ones that are always there when families come in to visit. No docotrs or administration on the floor 24/7. We are all glad Chris is doing well in Ponoka, but room 10 is just not the same for me. No coconut smell in the morning from Christine getting Chris ready. No smiling faces in the afternoon to greet us on rounds. I will continue to follow your progression with Chris. I truly wish your family the best of luck and hope to see some pics of Gwen and Kylan with Chris on the blog.
Hey, that "fresh" Alberta air might just be what gets Chris to "wake up".! Well,.. that and Gwen, if Shelley can get her to cry, so Chris can hear her; (Gwen was pretty quiet when we saw her) and hearing Kylan's voice again.
I also remember even early on, how well Chris responded to Shelley's voice, so I am sure that will get him "pumped" as well.
Yes, Kelly - good idea for sure.. pictures of Gwen & Kylan with Chris; maybe another of Kevin & Chris working out in the Ponoka pool...?
Hope Thursday and Friday were good days all around; have a Good Weekend ! Go Canucks..!! (now "Canada's" team.)
Good afternoon Kevin. I am most impressed with your efforts with Chris. Keep up the good work in the pool and the exercise room. Persistence certainly does pay off.
Congratulations on the birth of your new grand daughter.
Seems like spring is as late there as it is here in Vanderhoof. I got out on my mountain bike for the first time this spring yesterday. What a glorious feeling. I hope that in the days to come that you and Chris will be enjoying the outdoors more often.
Keep up with your efforts my friend. Best wishes to both you and Chris.
Rick
What's happening there?
Things must be busy!
Looking forward to hearing what you have been up to when you have energy and time to post.
Thinking of you all...
